in 2001 and the 40th Anniversary of service to Morocco by over 4000 Peace Corps
volunteers and staff on Friday June 21, 2002 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the
invitation of Embassy of Morocco at the Residence of His Excellency Ambassador

While recommended, Conference registration is not required to attend this reception, however, current membership in Friends of Morocco is required. The Ambassador's residence is at 9109 Clewerwall Dr, Bethesda, MD. See Mapquest at neighborhood, area and city scale for directions. From Washington, DC: take Massachusetts Ave to Goldsboro Road (there is a light); turn right on Goldsboro Road at the end of Massachusetts Ave; Turn left on River Road (towards Potomac) at the light; go past the beltway; Continue past Cabin John Fire Department and up the hill; At the top of the hill, turn right on Clewerwall Rd; bend to the right to the last house on the long cul-de-sac. From Beltway 495: take exit to River Road (190) on Maryland side; go towards Potomac on River Road past the fire station; turn right on Clewerwall Rd; bend to the right to the last house.

NPCA Fundraising Reception and Dinner Saturday June 22 (6 pm – 10 pm Omni Shoreham) (Bill Moyers is the emcee.)Tickets will be available by April 8. A separate ticket is required to attend this event. Saturday night’s Salute to Sarge promises to be an evening of celebration and fun, when RPCVs, members of the international and corporate communities and Peace Corps supporters come together to hail the ongoing legacy left by Peace Corps’ first director. Entertainment, good food and wine and a chance to visit with old friends promise to make the event one to remember. Join the Morocco table(s) and, God willing, dine with the Ambassador.

Sunday, June 23 Lunch
at 1:30 the Taste
of Morocco restaurant following the Morning
Procession to Arlington across Memorial Bridge. This is a free activity
open to non-conference registrants. Sunday morning at the playing fields
by the Lincoln memorial, groups will gather by country with their host’s flag
to march across the bridge to Arlington. NPCA has invited ambassadors in Washington
to join us in the procession. Country dress is encouraged. FOM will march together
under the Moroccan flag. You too can carry the flag.
NPCA is planning a picnic and games but FOM will meet for lunch at the
Taste of Morocco Restaurant in Arlington, VA owned by FOM member, Abdel Moumen.
