EUCD/MC1170 Songs & Dances from Morocco - Chalf HassanIn traditional Moroccan folk music the Bendeer (a large wooden frame drum, with snare strings to create a buzzing sound) is used as the main part of the rhythm section. Other instruments played are the Aud (lute), the violin and the Nay (bamboo flute). The lead singer sings the main part and the other singers repeat after him in the traditional Arabian question and answer fashion. |
